ClimateKeys events combine live music with guest speaker talks and audience conversation about our action and response to existential threat. Within this ClimateKeys concert, Elemental explores nature from the perspective of the elements and their effect on us within and without. The aim is to connect with awareness of the preciousness and fragility of our Earth in this crucial climate-extinction cross-roads which we are all facing.

Elena Riu, concert pianist and concert creator: “Although I have been a concert pianist for the past 30 years few people realize that I have also led a parallel life as a Yoga & Mindfulness teacher. A chance encounter with the work of Tich Nath Hahn during a holiday , followed by a stay in Plum Village, was a major turning point for me. I have since endeavoured to share his wonderful teachings, steeped in Deep-Ecology, with as many people as possible. During the last few years I have also been delivering Yoga & Mindfulness for Performance related stress and anxiety to pianists at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance. I am a menstruality activist and part of the Extinction Rebellion movement. This programme seeks to achieve a kind of synergy between the various strands of my artistic & spiritual life.”

Lola Perrin, composer pianist and ClimateKeys founder: “Emissions continue to rise and governments continue to show their inability to deal with our dangerous predicament. Meanwhile we are in the midst of the sixth mass extinction. ClimateKeys concerts are symbolic for reflecting my ethos that to get emissions down, contain the temperature rise and deal with our ecological crisis, the issues have to be central of all of our activities. That’s why the conversation we’ll have at tonight’s event will take centre stage, framed by music performances.” climatekeys.com
