“It’s a wonderful idea to engage artists and audience in important issues such as climate change, using music through concerts, debates, videos as a new approach of facing existing, escalating problems, finding possible solutions on individual levels. Marija Ligeti Balint’s concert as a part of Lola Perrin’s initiative was exactly what I would have expected from this type of artistic/social engagement. The careful and adequate choice of compositions performed, as well as Marija’s own compositional contribution, was already amazing on its own and indulged us, not to mention the beautiful nature photographs of the young artist Atila Balint, that were projected on the canvas … from which the audience also had the pleasure to meet Lola with her video presentation of this global project. The two teachers were both guests and hosts, sharing their expertise on the given subject, inviting the audience to actively participate and share their views, increasing self- awareness which we all need in hectic times of the modern age, when we tend to forget the true purpose of us as main creators and, alas, main destructors of our only habitat, planet Earth. This project certainly made me wish to contribute artistically, hoping for more opportunities to do so.” (Melinda Ligeti, composer-pianist, Abbadia San Salvatore/Italy)
